Couch Potato: I’ve Fallen Off The Wagon

Guys, it happened.

For the past three or so weeks I have been INCREDIBLY Lazy and unmotivated to do anything except lounge around the house (a.k.a. lying on my couch under a blanket). Now, if you don’t know, I love my couch… too much…if you would like some context you can read I Confess. I’m A Couch Potato. However, not too long ago I publicly self congratulated my efforts towards my physical health (This Couch Potato Has Been Gyming).

Well, I have to admit, I’ve fallen off the wagon.

In the last 3 weeks, I’ve been to the gym three times. Not too bad, but it is a step in the direction of going to the gym ZERO times.

My excuses?

– There was very heavy snow and cold weather renders me, a hermit. Just look at how thick it was! (Keep in mind that it rarely snows this much in England)

Snowed up to my knees!

– Laziness, I just wanted to binge watch Netflix, eat and play video games (shout out to final fantasy 15).
– I love food too much and wanted to go home and eat.

Just look at how yummy that looks! Resisting its deliciously is almost impossible.

I’ve also not taken the stairs in the morning at work for a whole….I’ve lost count, so you know it’s been a long time. On the other hand, I do walk down the stairs.

I’ve also almost been exclusively sitting during my nightly showers. But you know what, I don’t even feel bad about this one. I love sitting showers so much!

So here I am, admitting that I’ve fallen. I dunno, maybe admitting that I haven’t been good at self-care will be a message to ‘get my ass to the gym’.

  1. Being able to admit that you’ve fallen, means to me that there is room for improvement. Everybody had these days! You’ll find that motivation some where! You’ve had it once it will come back!
Some days I absolutely love nothing more than just sitting on the couch watching TV bingeing out on Netflix series. Jump back on that wagon! 😊

Sometimes your body needs rest. It needs to recuperate. And sometimes our mental state needs to be nourished as well (binging Netflix can “reset” and de-stress your mind), so skipping gym is not THAT bad. Now that you’ve taken a long enough break, and the stop is melting (or already melted), you should be ready to ease yourself back into your routine. You can do it!

    1. THANK YOU!!! It’s Easter break at the moment, so it’s filled with lounging around the house (another break) :).

Everyone falls off at one point, that’s ok. Enjoy it! Just don’t forget to get back on the wagon at some point 😁 Final Fantasy 15? I’m so behind lol

    1. Thank you for your support! It’s actually the first final fantasy game I’ve played haha. Guess I will just have to play them out of order now.

      Hope you had a weekend!

  4. I can soooo relate to being a hermit when it is a snowy cold mess outside! I can’t seem to be motivated to do anything other than try to stay warm and comfy on my 🛋 couch! Thank goodness we’re out of our deep-freeze!

    1. Thank you for taking the time to read :). Right! The couch is so comfy. When we had our deep freeze it’s hard to feel motivated to do anything! Staying in bed just felt like the best option haha. I’m so happy that you relate to the feelings of being a hermit, it’s good to know there are others out there!
