Hello good people of the Internet,
Today is a good day, a fellow amazing blogging buddy of mine Gemma, at Consider the end, has nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award.
Please, please, please go check her out. She writes what’s in her heart and mind, so there’s something for everyone.
So…the Sunshine Blogger Award….I think these awards are an amazing way for us to discover new blogs and get to know each other a little better :). So let’s spread the love in this little-big world of the blogosphere.
Also, Gemma – please read my questions and give me your answers, I would really REALLY love to know.
Sunshine Blogger Award Rules
1. Who inspires you the most and why?
Bro I dunno. I am notoriously terrible with these questions. This is because I think everyone lives their own lives and I find it impossible to compare. Having said that, I find I feel most inspired by peoples actions rather than the end result. Anyone can be be a source of inspiration for me, even a stranger. I look up to actions and intentions, this can include someones bravery (even doing something new and scary), kindness, perseverance, intellect and the list goes on! I am inspired by characteristics I see in people that I admire, feel I lack or could be improved upon.
But really, I only look to myself and do what is right for me (and my husband, because my decisions affect him). I guess I look for inspiration within myself.*
*I just made myself feel weird at the cringeyness of that statement.
2. Why did you start blogging?
Blogging is something that I thought about for a long time but never really got a around to doing it (or had the confidence to do so).
But one day I thought, meh I’m not going to live forever, so JUST DO IT.
Since I began writing on here I have found it to be very therapeutic and it just makes me happy. What more could someone ask for? 🙂
3. If you were an animal what would you be and why?
To be honest, I was stuck on this question a lot so I ended up doing a couple what animal are you quizzes on the Internet. I got multiple different results, such as a cat, rooster and chameleon.
Humans are technically part of the animal kingdom. So can I pick human?
That feels like cheating so let’s go with a different animal. Let’s go with…the chameleon! Why? I adapt to my environment.
4. What did you have for tea last night? Talk me through the decision-making process.
Yesterday we attended a friend’s wedding. For dinner there was a BBQ buffet style dinner. There were a couple options, the two I considered were the sausage hot dog in a bun and a burger.
I decided to go for the sausage hot dog and I drowned it in ketchup. Because Ketchup is LIFE.
5. Do you work-out? Talk me through your regime.
Me? This couch potato? I should be crying instead of laughing. BUT, I do my best because health (I guess). I try my best to go to the gym 1-2 times a week.
A gym class I try to attend weekly is power step. It’s quite intensive and it’s not too late in the evening so perfect for after work. Essentially, we step up/down, jump over a step, squats and anything to do with legs (and some burpees) for 45 minutes. It’s exhausting but it feels so good.
I also try to go to the regular gym for my second work-out attendance. I don’t really have a regime, I just use whatever. Which is limited to what gym equipment is available and my knowledge of how to use them. This includes, the bikes, cross-trainer, leg press, leg push-outy-inny thing, abdominal crunches machine, arm pully thing, and arm pushy thing. Followed by stretching on a mat.
As you can probably tell, I don’t really know the names of a lot of the gym equipment. Now, I don’t use all of those equipment each time, I just do whatever I feel like doing that day.
One day, I do hope to try the weights, but it’s really intimidating!
6. What time is your alarm set on work days?
7. What is your favourite sweet treat?
8. Describe your perfect Saturday.
Relaxing at home with my husband (because of his job, we don’t always get to spend a lot of time together during the week).
Sleeping in, cooking breakfast and generally having the day open to do whatever we want!
9. Who is your ‘person’? For non Grey’s Anatomy fans that means who is your best friend? Tell me about them.
My husband is my best friend. Is this sweet or sad? But, I will say that it’s really nice living with someone who is both your partner and best friend :).
10. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a vet. I loved animals so much as a child. Why did I not pursue this? I discovered that I was afraid of other people’s pets.
11. What is your favourite item of clothing and why?
I don’t really have a favourite item of clothing, I like multiple items. But the only item of clothing that I am emotionally attached to, is my great Grandfather’s red scarf.
